Writing in after a long time... by now I suppose everyone would be aware of MJ's sudden demise. I am not sure if still has many fans as he did many many years back but since I've heard this news I've felt like I've lost a very close friend.
I cant understand it. I've never met this person, I never even wondered until friday what was Michael upto.
It's been atleast a few years since I've heard a Michael song. But on Friday as I read the news online of his sudden death memories started flowing back. Those childhood days when I used to sit in my shorts near the tape recorder and keep playing those MJ songs. The countless time I would rewind and play back to figure out the lyrics for the songs "beat it" and "bad". Nowadays you just have to google for it :). I remember I couldnt figure out that whether he was singing "Ambaaaa" (goat's braying) or "I'm Bad" :)
The first time I saw his performance in MTV, I was mesmerized. I wondered did he have bones?? Was it camera tricks?? Trying to ape his moon walk :)
Even though his song weren't a part of my playlist for the past few years they are all suddenly coming back to me. I have gone online and bought the albums for thriller, History & Dangerous and added them on to my iPod. Since Friday I've been browsing Youtube videos living through memories of his songs. When I listen to his songs now and his stage performance I realize there is not a single person who has a voice as pure as his and can dance with his energy at the same time. Those two talents combined certainly makes him my "King of Pop".
